BiOptic has signed memorandum of cooperation with the school of medicine, Chang Gung University

The school of medicine in Chang Gung University and BiOptic signed a memorandum of cooperation on the morning of October 24th. Starting from the summer vacation of 2023, master and doctoral students of the school's biotechnology industry program can enter the company for a 6-week summer internship program , In addition to being able to enter the R&D unit in the relevant field to actually participate in the company's product development, they can also experience the multi-industrial environment and understand the difference between the biotechnology R&D and the technology learned in the school laboratory.

BiOptic was founded in 2004. and take capillary electrophoresis as the core technology which is equipped with patented optical modules to produce "Qsep series bio-fragment analyzers". Later all expand the application of genetic testing, food safety and pathogen detection. The company has been established for 18 years, and has extended from the biotech research market in the past to clinical use. With multiple detection kits and open platform, it vows to create the concept similar with Android system in the biomedical field!

The ceremony was held in the First Medical Building of Chang Gung University. BiOptic’s chairman Eric Tsai led his team and attended the ceremony. Witnessed by the biotechnology industry degree engineer, the two parties were attended by CEO of BiOptic, and Vice President Yang Chi-Wei of Chang Gung University signed the contract. Director Chiu of Biotechnology Industry Program, said that the biggest difference between the biotechnology industry master’s and doctoral degree programs and other basic disciplines is that they attach importance to the planning of professional theory and practical courses, so that every graduate student who is enrolled in the program must go to the company. Internships will enable graduates to have the ability to plan, manage and innovate immediately.

BiOptic’s CEO said that in recent years, the company has cooperated with well-known domestic colleges and universities, including National Taiwan University, Qingda University, National Ocean University, Yilan University, etc., to hold a number of biotechnology experimental courses for college students or master students, High school students winter and summer camps, company internships, visits, etc. In these courses and activities, they not only share the latest technology and market trends, but also integrate industrial project management and product development. We share our thinking logic and experience with these students, hoping to have more positive exchanges with the academic community and contribute to the cultivation of the next generation of outstanding biotech talents.

The Biotechnology Industry Master's and Doctorate Program was established in 2015. It is an independent degree program, positioned to integrate the teachers and courses of the School of Medicine, the School of Engineering, and the School of Management, a practice-oriented curriculum design and an enterprise internship system.
